| How can I get a picture or graphics under the
glass of a friction call. |
There are several methods to put a picture or
graphics under the glass of a glass friction call. (1)
Print out a photo quality picture or use an actual photograph.
Spray the photo with a clear fixative or lacquer to keep the ink
from running. Using a glue stick (like kids use in
school), glue the photo to the back of the glass and using a
straight edge, work out any air bubbles. After the glue
dries, trim the photo using the edge of the glass as a guide.
(2) put the photo or graphics on the sound board, beneath
the glass. (3) Use a HP decal kit to make a decal for the
bottom of the top glass, or buy a pre-made decal. |

| What is a board foot? |
A board foot (BF) is a unit of
measure for volume of wood. One board foot
is equal to 144 cubic inches or a piece of wood
12" wide x 12" long x 1"
thick. To calculate how many board feet are
in a piece of wood multiple the thickness x width
x length in inches and divide by 144. Board
footage can also be looked up in a Lumber Scale
table. |

| How much does wood weigh? |

| Why is 1" thick hardwood
really 13/16" |
1" is a nominal size.
1" hardwood lumber is actually rough sawn to
1 1/8" thickness. As it dries wood
shrinks. This thickness is further reduced
when the wood is surfaced of (Planed).
Therefore the final thickness of 1" nominal
hardwood is 13/16". See the following
table for other nominal and actual
thickness'. Standard

| What is Equilibreum Moisture Content (EMC) |
The moisture content of wood is directly
related to the humidity and temperature of the
surrounding air. The equilibrium moisture
content (EMC) occurs when the wood has reached an
equilibrium with its environment and is no longer
gaining or losing moisture. Here is a table for looking up the
EMC of wood, given the temperature
and relative humidity: |
